Re: Paint

Hi Barry
Where in NZ are you? Union Hardware, now in Petone Lower Hutt (used to be in Newtown Wellington) mixed my paint to match the original paint inside of the brake backplates and primary chain guard. They had a box of swatches of military colours which you could select from or they match what you take in. Hope this is of some help.
Cheers

Re: Paint

Barry, regardless of what level of rivet-countery you're hoping to achieve, the best option is to get hold of the book by Mike Starmer covering the theatre and period that you're interested in.

Not only do they include hand-painted colour chips (which may be too small for commercial matching), they include formulas for matching with commonly available modelling paints so that you can paint out a decent area on white card and make sure that you like it.

I only have the NW Europe version so can't help on the various Middle East Colours.

Re: Paint

Thanks for the info. I don't consider myself a rivet counter but have a couple of green bikes and fancy a change of colour on this one, I live near Blenheim but have a son in Wellington so I will duck into Union Hardware next time I visit. Cheers
