Re: Website picture

Would be nice to see some more pictures of this one. It's well and truly fossilised. Just think of the rot inside the frame tubes, don't think this could never be restored to a safe ridding bike.
Would be nice to know how and where it was found.

I bet it was the Netherlands! Those Dutch are always unearthing stuff during the Tulip planting season:slightly_smiling_face: Ron

Re: Website picture

It's still got a blackout mask on it, does this mean it was buried in wartime? was it deliberate or maybe dumped in haste?

A story here for sure.

Some more photos. Not sure where it was found.

Dragged out of a dyke I reckon? probably some poor squaddie came across a broken down G3L chucked the M20 in the ditch and pushed the G3L back to base in preference?

Are the tools still in the tool box?

Re: Some more photos. Not sure where it was found.

This swinging arm B31 engine/gearbox came out of a hedge in Gloucestershire...Note the remains of the frame..The gearbox has a hole corroded into the upper face...The other side looks much worse but still has the inner chain case, clutch, engine sprocket assy. and chain mounted...

The only thing left of the oiltank is the internal return oil pipe which can be seen behind the carb..

You must stop taking those drugs Ken...Your obviously slipping into a fantasy world again... ...Ian

Drugs? recently had a new knee, I think it took about 3 weeks for the Oramorphine to clear my system. I was well lively.

My fantasy world revolved around nurses while under it :-D luvvly.

Probably not enough drugs around to get me on an M20 though.

Re: Some more photos. Not sure where it was found.

You can still see some of the petrol tank c number, you could probably use some of the more solid parts.

Re: Some more photos. Not sure where it was found.

Great pictures, i would just leave it as it is after getting the crusty rust off and then paint it with oil. It's a great talking point and it could tell a good story. Would be a shame to take anything off it. Only the brass parts could be any good.

As far as I know it has been dismantled and sandblasted in an attempt to restore it.

%%bbCodeItem_1%% Found in a hedge in London

Found in Ukraine

The BSA was found in Ukraine. Based on its paint and markings, it is believed it was seized in North Africa from a Canadian unit.

It's to late for that, it has been sandblasted already with plans to restore it.
