I use 'medium aluminum oxide' grit in my cabinet for all ally and stainless parts. The aluminium parts (crankcases and such) benefit from a final rub over with wire wool for a slight sheen. Ron
I use a 60-80 grit aluminium oxide for 'rough blasting'....
This works well to give the right finish to stainless steel..I blast the parts, then clean them off in the parts washer tank...Alternatively, blast, blow off with an airline and then apply some WD40 and wipe off the surplus to finish...
For aluminium parts I finish blast them with glass bead to give them that nice sheen....Ian
