Omg guys.......... She fired up,,,,
Just 5 kicks and boom did I jump, had to shut her down quick due to fuel leaking out of carb, but hey ho I've got to first base.
Thanks to all out ther with your advise ,
Tried taking a steel and friction plate out but made clutch slip sadly
Well done Simon:+1: I can't understand your clutch slipping though? Unless you have worn plates and or a weak spring. Mine has never slipped and it's 600cc and my Indian special is pulling much more power through the same clutch, both with 2 plates removed. Might be something that needs investigating. Ron
Also well done, the first start is always a nice moment.
About the clutch, Ron is right.
Could it be just a matter of adjusting the cable ? Does it really free ?
Slippy clutch... Just a thought... Did you replace the push rod that runs through the gearbox? I did and to my despair, it made the clutch slip. On further inspection, the small hollows for the ball bearings had not been ground out, thus making the rod a teeny bit longer than its predecessor. So, with a bit of fettling, I got the new rod sorted and now the clutch works a treat.
