I brought a set of the BAP taps from Monty's off eBay (130895166950). Whilst the tank end is defiantly 1/4" BSP I'm not convinced about the other end. I'm unable to screw the union nut onto the tap, by hand, more than 3/4 of 1 turn. I don't want to apply force. I can screw the same nut on and off the tank end, on both taps, with no issue, but both tap outlets are tight.
In your experience do you need to run a 1/4" BSP die down the threaded 'output' end as it looks to be same thread?
If you have leaky taps fitted with cork seals, try replacing with seals cut from those new high density foam corks you get on some wine bottles (Italian?). I did mine some 10 years ago and they have never leaked since.
Gerard the taps are listed as 1/4 BSP both ends. I can't imagine that both taps would have a duff thread at the outlet? Are you sure that the threads in your union nuts are not damaged/stretched? Can you try the tank end of your old taps in the union nut before you set too with a 1/4 BSP die. Ron
