Does anybody know the correct carb for a 1949 g3l and what main jet it should have .thanks

According to the Amal book it's a 76AE/1AK with a 150 main jet needle position 3. Ron

Thanks for that never heard of that number thought it was a 276 or 275 but just looked on hitchcocks website and they do a 76 . At the moment it runs fine but you have to have the mixture screw right in and you have to retard it to get it to tick over is the main jet wrong.

Well the main jet will have nothing to do with tick over. More likely the carb body is worn and allowing too much air past a loose slide. Ron
