SPEEDWAY HILL CLIMB.

Peeled the top left photo a bit a there is a date 23/6/46,could be in Egypt.

I think it is in Egypt as I have stayed in the Mena House Hotel which is next to the great Pyramids in Giza and there is lots of sand there and you see many photographs of soldiers next to the pyramids.
