Replacement sump plate

Hi All,
My sump plate has seen better days and really could do with replacing.
Question is like for like or buy one of these alloy finned jobs with the magnetic sump plug off ebay?

Is there room for the sump shield if you fit a finned plate? Ron

No, there isn't! I had to cut a hole in the shield to accomodate it.

How much do they stick out below, could I just get it machined down a bit?

There is considerable material on those finned alloy plates that can be removed if needs be.
