Hi Friends,

I am just noticing that my 4th gear wheel in my CP Burman gearbox is missing this ring. How important is this part and what are the adverse effects of not having this? In case if this is a must have then can I use an alternate washer or ring? Help ME

You will need it for a number of reasons the gears will not mesh properly when it goes through the bearing the large nut will not tighten up the shaft that goes through will be wrong at both ends ie the kick start and the clutch at the other end

If you are rebuilding your gearbox try to get a bearing with a built in oil seal they where for sale on this forum or get a modification oil seal Dragonfly do them for Ariel gearboxes which are the same as matchless gearboxes
