I managed to strip the thread inside the magneto's body. I think it is 3/16" as I can measure about 5 mm on my metric caliper. I do have access to M6 helicoil and would like to know if it will be ok to oversize the thread? I will machine a new screw of course. Or do you guys have any other idea how to fix this issue? Thank you!
Looking at the points end of the magneto in which position is (was) the stud?...There are two lengths of cover clip with the fixing in a different position for each...Let me know and I'll check a mag body to see how much material is round the thread...Ian
