My twirly copper fuel line is horsed...leaking in a few places...been repaired a few times....and is now well past it's sell by date...so I am going down the road of the black flexible fuel line incorporating a fuel filter....
Was wondering if anyone has a picture of such a set up so as I know what I'm aiming for...??
Thanks
Jimmy
I have fitted a new solid one in the last few days. I pickled it in hydrochloric acid for a few mins to remove the bright zinc plate and then polished it with a scotch pad. It looks a treat with a patin athat makes it look at least 70 years old.
You may have to manipulate it a bit to get it to fit, which is not difficult (I had to shorten, change the ferrules and resolder to fit the bap taps I've gone for) but make sure you don't flatten the tube in the process.
I went with a self-soldered cupper replica I made, and then short after the joint I attached a rubber line consisting a small filter and then to the carby. This way the vibration won't damage the solid lines and I also have a filter doing its job
