I would like to straighten up my early footrests on my WM20 and want to know if cold bending or heat applied will work without breaking them off. Thanks

They are forgings and can be fixed either way.
Cold will need a lot of force and can bend the splined end out of round.

Hot is easier but just don't hold it a bright red for too long or you will get grain growth and loose strength.

A dull red heat should be fine with a slow air cool
