Rear Mudguard Stay Sizes

Dear All

I mounted a rear mudguard today to find out what holes I need to tig weld up as some of them are not needed or do not match the rear frame and seat positions. My old mudguard was from a different BSA motorcycle and because of that the sets of bars are not long enough. Please see attached image.

I was wondering is it was possible that someone could measure the 3 types of bars that are attached to a 1943 era mudguard so I can make a set up from stock tube. these are the sizes I would need.

1. Horizontal strap to number plate, the distance from bolt centre to bolt centre.
2. Handle strap, 2B the distance from bolt centre to bolt centre, and 2A the distance from top bolt centre to the top outside edge of the handle.
3. Vertical strap, the distance from bolt centre to bolt centre.

I don’t want to make a guess on the strap lengths as It may have a knock on effect when I come to fit the rear rack and panniers.

Regards

Stuart

Re: Rear Mudguard Stay Sizes

Hello Stuart,

Sadly all your stays, including the lifting handle, are not the Original ones.

I do have the vertical and horizontal stays in NOS, send me an email if your interested.
