Hello guys. I am new to the forum. I live in Ontario Canada. I am a new owner of a 1942 triumph 3hw. I don't know a lot about this motorcycle. It actually the only one I have ever seen. The frame # is TL53365 and the engine is 68643 with no 3hw prefix. I would appreciate any info anyone has. I am also looking for a proper battery box and licence plate holder. Thanks Jeff
Welcome Jeff. TL 53365 is from contract C8886 which was from one of the very last contracts 1944/5 (3000 machines...actually 2993 supplied) I calculate yours to be the 2941st with tank census number C4857120..... Which I would guess was delivered in early 45. There should be a frame build date stamped on the top of the frame tube under the saddle eg TEC 6.44. (Triumph Engineering Co 6th June).
Your engine number doesn't fall within wartime production and I'd guess late 45 or 46.
I'm also fairly new to the forum and struggled with uploading images for a while. The web hosting site I managed to get to work was postimages.org and its free. When you have created an account you can create folders for all your different images to store, click on one of your uploaded images and then copy the "Add Hotlink For Website" link and paste it into your post. Looking forward to seeing some images of your bike.
