Hey fellas, I am going to over haul the clutch on my WD M20. Is it better to have 8 friction discs fitted as per standard or will fitting only 7 friction discs give a lighter clutch operation?
These days clutch plates are most of the times to thick.so for sure you can leave a clutch and a steel plate..i even think so that a normal(to thick)set cant work while the total will be to high and you clutch rod will be much too short.
So leave the 2 plates and you clutch will be very nice working.
Yes I agree with Roy. Both my 600cc M20 and My even more powerful V twin Indian engine M20 are running for years with two plates removed. No slip and a nice light clutch.
