88YC88,72YC16 and 23YD30.

Post war MPs,they have a tax disc? but location may not be UK,one has gloves on that might have RMP on them, two of the bikes have the earlier type sump guard.

Re: 88YC88,72YC16 and 23YD30.

A nice picture Steve, thanks for sharing it.

All three are in the post war keycards.

72YC16 WM20 116605 C5557305 s/o HAL 5/1/55

88YC88 No frame/engine number given C4171010 (WM20 18796) s/o MELF 31/12/54

23YD30 WM20 55407 (probably engine number) C4355317 (WM20 38725) s/o BTE 30/6/54

HAL I think is a vehicle depot in the UK possibly Halstead, BTE =British Troops Egypt and MELF= Middle East Land Forces, so if two of these were sent to the Middle East and the other remained in the UK I suspect this picture was probably taken in the British Isles around 1950?

Hi Rob,

There's a Jeep in the background, so that may date the photo.

Re: 88YC88,72YC16 and 23YD30.

Hi Rodger,

The Jeep headlights on the brackets that swing. They could be used for lighting up the engine bay when working in there. As far as I know, that was a Ford design.
