The headlamp looks very much like a Jeep lamp. As an aside, for some reason the British seemed to feel the need to replace the nice American sealed beam Jeep headlamps with Butler tractor lamps on our Jeeps.
As Rik already hinted at, the front mudguard looks like Norton 16H.

Probably something they 'picked up' along the way from a Brit who wanted something they had or they simply 'found it'... ...Kept running with whatever came to hand no doubt...
There was a BMW outfit in North Africa that was used by the Brits after capture, crashed and scrapped, liberated from the dump for a bottle of whisky, recommisioned and used again, then stripped and the engine was used in a boat which sank..It was recovered by a Navy diver and finally it was got running again to power a water pump that provided running water in a bombed out house used by the British as a billet...
