The main gearbox bearing for a Matchless in a double lipped sealed version is almost impossible to buy off the shelve. The bearing is odd as it has combined metric and imperial dimensions. Darren Wrudd (bearing guru and antique gear fishing guy) from this forum will undertake to get some created by getting the centres ground to size of a near equivalent bearing.
The question is...who wants one to stop that leaky gearbox. The bigger the batch the cheaper the job. Please post on here or email Darren Wrudd at john-fenwick@btconnect.com
or me asap. Ron
Yes that is most probably the correct bearing Hinrik and I think is easily obtainable from AMC Classics and others. But I'm after a sealed bearing to stop the leaks, which is the nature of this thread and Darren can get them made. Ron
Arnaud I'll send you a picture of the Matchless bearing, if you can cross reference it would be good. But if no one else comes forward by this evening, I might take a chance and order 3-4 from Darren.....Personally I won't be repeating this. Ron

Hello Ron
on the WD/CO/B BURMAN CP/E the bearing is: ( sorry for metric!!) external 62mm, internal 32.6mm, tickness 15.9mm looking at some merchands, and it look like the same???? don't know on Ariel as the bearing is on the bike!!!
Arnaud
OK I've ordered 4 for me, Arnaud and Scott. Last chance as Darren will order them today before he goes on holiday. They are £36 plus post. Anyone else who wants any, please email Darren direct before mid pm today. Ron
The bearings are now ready and I have emailed those who asked for reserves :-)
I got a small batch of 10 bearings made which leaves me with 3 bearings left.
If anyone is needing one then just drop me an email and I will get back to you, or I shall advertise them elsewhere if not.
Thanks
Darren
