the plate the rotating points follow does not seem to be linear but digital with a 20 degrees recess on or off.
Is that normal.

The points block has a little tappet which opens and closes the points as it rises and falls as it follows the ramps in the hollow in the cam plate. The cam plates are right or left depending on the driven rotation of the mag. Best I can describe it although I'm not sure if it's any help to your query Ron
