Re: alloy in sump plate

A picture tells a thousands words! Sounds like it might be part of a piston skirt?

Re: alloy in sump plate

Is it one piece of 3 mm or a layer of pieces around 3 mm thick ?

I've seen many of these filters with pieces of steel. That's what filters are for. Does'nt mean you're in trouble.

Re: alloy in sump plate

I don't think so! But you said it was ally? Have you tried a magnet on the pieces to confirm? Ron

Re: alloy in sump plate

Hello Jim.

All of the parts look too similar, not like just random pieces.
Are you sure it is alloy?
Could it be grounded rollers or balls from a bearing?

Noam.
