Hello
just bought an m20 with 2 spare motors. I cant see the frame number yet but it has plunger suspension and telescopic forks it also has a circular penetratoin down through the oil tank where the speedo cable enters the gear box. The engine in it is wm20.44678 the spare engines are wm20.51243 and zm20.7279.
The frame seems to have sidecar joints.Theres no tool box in the back triangle.
Any advice as to what i have.

It sounds like you have a post war civilian M20 which someone has fitted a wartime WM20 engine to.

You should be able to locate the frame number on the left of the steering head,
right where it connects to the frame tube.

The bike hasnt been delivered yet. When i had a look at it i could not see all the frame number. It gets delivered in 2 weeks then i will know the frame number.
The seat is about 5 inches back from the tank it looks like the top of the rear seat mounts have been cut off extended and welded 5 inches back.The front seat mount is bolted to the juncion where the vertical pipe joins.
