I am building my Burman CP gearbox for a Matchless G3l 1944 and I want to build it to civilian gearing.

The WD gearing is: mainshaft 32, 29, 23/18, and layshaft 18, 21, 27, 32. Who can give me the civilian gearing?

seems that all sums are 50, so you can start engineering your own gearbox ratio

The G3L '49 gearing is: mainshaft 30, 18/23, 27 and layshaft 20, 32, 27, 23.

Beware that CP gearbox internals are swapable with B52 gearbox bits for which there are (were) competition options including a high 3rd gear pair which I ended up with in my G3L. Very nice for pretending to be a racer by less so in heavy traffic!
