Off topic- looking for a 5/8"x20 NSC cap/plug to block breather...
Hello guys,
In the strange project bike I posted some videos of
(M21, 1960, Suzuki and harley parts, 712cc, plunger frame.)
I need to seal the breather on the left top side, (WD cases)
As I cannot fit a breather. it clashes with the late model primary cover,
Which has an extra protecting shoulder on the top,
So I use the later model timing cover, with the breather on the bottom.
I tried to source a 5/8"x20 NSC plug to close the breather port, But cannot find one.
Does anybody has an idea if there is an equivalent thread, or where I can find a die or a plug? (Mail)

Hi Noam. I guess you mean male. Is it 5/8" x 20 tpi BSC? Taps and dies are off the shelf here http://www.tracytools.com/taps-and-dies/20-TPI-CYCLE-PITCH
or google search for bolts/sets with that thread. Ron

Hello Ron.
Yes, sorry. Male it is. mail is that thing with the stamps... Hahaha...
On the "Technical section hints and tips" in the site, under "Threads: Engine, Gearbox & Primary drive" http://wdbsa.nl/Threads.htm
The Doctor stated:
"C.case breather to c.case 5/8x20 NSC
C.case breather to vent pipe nut 7/16x20 NSC (7/16 UNF alt.)
C.case breather fitting to breather body 5/8x20NSC"
I am not sure if it it a mistake, as the NSC repeats 3 times.(?)
On this site I could find the BSC, but not the NSC.
Would the BSC fit?
Re: Off topic- looking for a 5/8"x20 NSC cap/plug to block breather...
When I wrote that piece I used 'NSC' top denote 'non standard cycle'...That is noted somewhere in the details I believe...
'Non Standard' refers to the fact that many people believe incorrectly that Cycle Thread is 26 tpi at all diameters and in all applications...That is not the case....
So, the thread you need is Cycle Thread but in the 20tpi format...Ian
