I am currently restoring a royal enfield flying flea (1943) and got 2 engines when i purchased it ,one being the correct engine to flea with matching numbers and the other a villiers 9D james ML engine which suprised me and im now looking on information on the ML engine. The suffix is ' AAA 26698 A ' anyone that could help on any dates or history it would be much appreciated.
The engine numbers for WD ML's was not specified on the key cards. But I think it's generally accepted that they had that AAA----A. Here is my engine number. I've learnt that the 'A' at the end of a James part number often meant 'Amended' ???? Ron
