My gearbox appears to leak oil into the primary chaincase, is this at all possible (my bike always ceases to amaze me)? Maybe what I am seeing is oil running along the shaft and dripping out along the back of the inner chaincase. Your thoughts/experiences very much appreciated. Regards Pat

Yes, thats possible. But it may also come from the crankcase if -after a while standing in the barn- your crankcase is filled with oil. But if its your gear box, then the bronze bush could be worn.
Hi Patrick, If you're seeing oil dripping from the rear chain case it's more than likely that it is chain case oil leaking past the oil flinger when running. The oil flinger and sliding plate never really worked well at holding oil.
Thanks for this. I think I will do the green Halfords oil test to be sure. Regards Pat
