C11101 m20 speedo

I'm hoping someone may be able to tell me, preferably with a photo, what type of speedo my '42 WM20 built under contract C11101 would have been fitted with.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: C11101 m20 speedo

Hi Mark.
I guess from 1941 up till 1945 the wd motorcycles were provided with the same speedo's, accept the lightweigt bikes such as the flying flee.
I sent you an email off forum with pictures of my Speedo's on my 1941 and 1942 BSA WM20.
Hope this will help you.
Regards, Ramon

Re: C11101 m20 speedo

Thanks Ramon.
I've got a friend with a dead donor speedo that he will donate to the my WM20 that I can convert to a WD speedo.
So does anyone know where a dial like this may be available from?

Re: C11101 m20 speedo

Repairers like David Woods in the UK can supply a restored instrument to that spec without any problem.

Unfortunately, if you're in Australia then the costs mount up. We're a bit spoiled over here.

If you do decide to send yours off, there is absolutely no problem dealing with the Woods's

Re: C11101 m20 speedo

Thanks Rik. Yes it would add up. There are a few people in Australia repairing chronos but if all else fails...
The only tricky parts to locate may be the dial and rounded brass bezel.
There is a local guy advertising chrono dials so i will see if he can supply one for a wd speedo.
