Sorry for the off topic BSA gas tank topic. A friend of mine has found a bsa gas tank but does not know the model it belongs to. It has small BSA tank badges not held on with screws and an air breather tube around the filler cap and on the bottom two gas taps on one side and a hole in the tank for a speedo cable. any help would be a great help

A photo would be helpful. Is it a panel tank or is the hole simply for a centre-bolt fixing ?

Well I have found out what the tank is. Its a 1953 one year only bsa gold star tank
