I have now carried out the frame repair helped by your info on spacer sizes....thanks.
Now another question. I'm repairing the rear stand pivot points as one is badly ovalled and the other has broken off.
What size should the hole be and is it a plain clearance hole or threaded?

I have a pair of brand new pivot bolts. The pivot shank is exactly 11mm which I guess is to give a bit of clearance in the 7/16" hole in the frame. There is a taper on the shank where it meets the 5/16" x 26 tpi thread which will help pull the bolt tight to the inside fork of the stand. Finally there is a slim locknut. Ron
