I know there are several Irish posters here, can anyone recommend petrol tank dent repairers and/or chromers in the ROI please? This is for a friend attempting the resurrection of a rare Royal Enfield 350 Crusader. Thanks,

Hi mark
I tried about a year ago to find an Irish company to do a few bits of chroming and found that there is no one doing decorative chrome, only a couple of places doing hard chrome and you don't want that. I did find a company in Northern Ireland and tried them for their chrome and zinc. Zinc was great but the chrome was iffy, the headlamp ring was fine but the gear selector was spiky to touch. So as you are going to have to pay international shipping any way I'd just use a UK based company that has a good reputation.
Hope this helps
Thanks for your help, I will pass that on. I know of good work here in the UK and am prepared to help get this done but local is (usually!) best.

I attend the Irish National run by the Munster Vintage motorcycle and car club, I suggest you contact this group who may be able to direct you to someone who can rebuild your engine, thay may be able to suggest an avenue for chroming, I have a chromed R/E Olympic tank which will be the same as the 250cc crusader if it is one of the later ones. My tank was polished and chromed by a chap adjacent to Competition Fabrications Attleborough, I don't recall his name but Comp Fabs are on the net, if this is any good to you. oh and Comp Fab took the dent out of my Goldstar tank without damaging the chrome. kind regards
O.K if you go to the Munster vintage motorcycle and car club, then to the membership form you will find an email address at the bottom of the form, this can get you into contact with the mebership secretary who may then be able to further your query, kind regards
Hi Stephen
I have had good success with Loftus Farrell & Co in Dublin they have been going for two generations machining engine parts such as rebores and crankshaft grinding, so they will be able to do the tricky stuff if you are able to build it back up. Last time I was there with a bike barrel they had a m20 barrel on the boring tool.
