Re: Off Topic? Girder forks

My guess is late twenties BSA.

Re: Off Topic? Girder forks

I'd say slightly later .. 1930s BSA heavyweight forks..That's also a bit of a guess though!!..

No doubt someone who actually knows will respond shortly. ..Ian

Where is Leon when we need him ??

Re: Off Topic? Girder forks

I will give it a try, checked some partlists and quite sure that it mainly used on the 500 'light' models from 1930 and 31. These models had the about the same topend as the Slopers but placed vertically and a much lighter frame.

The Sloper and V-twin forks had an extra horizontal strenghtening tube between the two tubes. Middle one:

Henk makes these the very handy partlist DVD available at a very nice price.

Nice fork!! Cheers, Michiel /NL

Re: Off Topic? Girder forks

Hi,
Thanks very much everyone for your help. I spent the last week looking through google images of different makes to try and find out what they were off with no success.

Cheers,
Mike

Re: Off Topic? Girder forks

That means Ian Wright was right after all (although he always says that he is nor much in 30's BSA's).
And indeed a nice pair of forks.

Re: Off Topic? Girder forks

They are early 30's 30-31 light weight they suit l30-11 350 S 30-12 500 or S30-18 and 19 light 500 the OHV with basically the flat tank bottom end.
I hope that helps
