I have a Norton 16H from 1945. Am looking for a Magdyno for it. As per the parts list, the following is required:
Section MT8/LU
Ref. No. LU/Magdyno/1638
Magdyno, Lucas, type MO1/4/AG4 Clockwise R.H. Pickup – R.H. control
Part no. LU/465110
Now I can currently buy the following:
AC52 455 MO1L 46046A
My question is, would this fit and work as well? They are both MO1's, but the first is MO1/4/AG4 and the other a MO1L.
I suspect that the "AC" at the beginning stands for Anti-Clockwise which is the opposite of what you need, you may be able to put a different cam plate in but there will still be some differences like the mag pickup on the wrong side.
