I'm in the process of re commissioning my recently purchased TRW. Its been asleep for a good few years but cleaned the tank and carb, fitted a battery, put some oil in it and hey presto it started second kick and runs like a sewing machine.
Problem is it is wet sumping with a vengence with oil coming from the valve chest breather I think or behind the sump shield. I have a good oil return flow.
I'm new to Triumph's and would welcome idea's before I start taking things to bits.
Is an oil tap or anti sumping valve/device a good idea ?
Thanks
John
An oil tap is NOT the way to go. At some time in the future, either you, or a future owner WILL forget to turn it on. Then the engine will be knackered. It's a guaranteed death sentence for a dry sump engine.
