Hello all,
i've got also this picture, since a make the NIFE boxes, they are french helmets, this picture was taken during a military trial in France 1940, i've got pictures from the same trial with a TERROT RATT, and one other with RDTT, think BEF have lot of camouflage, like the french army have , but very rare to see it on solo motorcycle, the top of the headlamp glass also painted black, like some car on british territory use.
On the WD Norton website it showed Rik's bike when he was stripping it. He marked the camouflage and photographed it so he could paint it back the same. I'm sure he won't mind me posting a picture of his bike in camo paint
It doesn't seem to have been the intention that motorcycles within the BEF be camouflaged but there are quite often similarities within units which suggest that instructions were sometimes interpreted differently.
2nd Infantry Division seem to have camouflaged motorcycles.
