Big Pete the boss at Armours has lost his battle with cancer and I will be attending his funeral tomorrow.

Maddy (from the old days) has stepped back in to help out during Pete's illness and with her knowledge and ladies tidying skills, has been sorting through the shelves and bins to give young Vicky a fighting chance to answer incoming enquiries and complete orders.

I gather that Darren from the workshops had already started negotiations with Pete about taking over the business before he became seriously ill. He told me last week that this is still the case. I guess he'll begin the process of getting the business back onto a more sound footing.

I guess this is why I've been having problems getting the stainless steel exhausts and getting them to make the less popular exhausts. Very sad to hear about this, I hope the company comes through ok.

Thanks for posting this Ron.......I've been using Armours since the 70's and have always had good service from them...........please pass on my regards and I hope the business continues to flourish...........

I've made my (justified) criticisms of Armours products..and cursed them roundly on more than one occasion...

However, I never like to hear these stories about anyone...I hope the family manage to get through it OK and the business survives...Ian

They are open, just rang them this am, and placed an order for a m23 exhaust.

Lately they only answer the phone in the mornings, due to the loss of the boss for 6 months and another member of counter staff who retired. Hopefully things will improve as the new owner gets to grips. You could try addressing an email to 'Vicky' and mention my name if you want......They call me 'Military Ron'.
