Possible info sought on DR killed in Tunisia 1943 .
Just curious if theres any more info i can glean about my Wifes Uncle killed in 1943 in Tunisia, seeing the picture and write up on here of one such person it looked like a place that might have some information.
I have his Driver number + Cemetery Ref + riding for the Royal Army Service Corps.
If someone can e-mail me if they can help or put me on the right track it would be appreciated.

Chilly, if you haven't already done it, I would seriously suggest registering on the WW2talk forum.

It's the best place that I know for support in pinning down units and obtaining copies of war diaries and regimental histories.
The first step recommended will probably be to download the forms and submit a request for a copy of his service records to the Army Records Office at Glasgow.
His CWGC details will avoid the need to obtain a copy death certificate. There is a charge (£30 I think) but in most cases, it will give details of units and postings that are nowhere else available.
My father applied (at my suggestion) for the records of his brother who died in service in Germany and was sent his identity discs which had been on the file all that time. I think this is pretty unusual but you never know what might turn up.
