BSA M20 ,Year of manufacture and registration number
Hi,
I have 2 partial BSA M20,motorcycles purchased around 1969. One Is promised to a friend and I am in the process of rebuilding S/N WM20.108167 Eng and Frame.I intend to find the registration and to use the bike on road.
I am aware my motorcycles were part of contract S5209 and I applied to BSA Owners Club my machine was delivered in September 1944 and s/n should be C 5548867.
Any information would be much appreciated.

This is Grahame here i meet with you at the Carlow meeting on Sunday, It's good to see that you have put the request up on the forum. Everyone is very helpful on here
Just a note to help other forum members that your machines are from the batch of Irish army brought machines the same that my heap came from. Hopefully John o Brien or Mick Walsh will be able to help you out as they did for me.

Your bike is same contract as mine - a little later in the run it seems
I have checked your serial no - regretfully - the original registration number is not known - like mine - one of the many bikes from thus contract where the registration numbers were returned to the Dublin corporation
It's very odd this & despite a number of enquiries we are still none the wiser why
The majority of this batch (approx 500 bikes) do not have reg numbers - unlike the earlier batches which appear to be complete - registration number & frame no cross referenced

if you are talking about civilian reg numbers is it possible these bikes never were registered because they were not issued ie were still in store and were sold off at an auction unregistered
