I appear to have a nut missing on my front hub (Front Hub Spindle Lock Nut, part number 24-6994). From a parts diagram, it appears that it should be screwed on after the two speedo drive spacers.
I have taken the wheel off several times in the past and never noticed that it is missing (I think!).
The fork legs do not look "pinched" together without this nut and seem perfectly aligned without it. I could be wrong, but there does not look like there is sufficient space for its inclusion.
My wheel fits into the bottom of the forks with relative ease. However, with the inclusion of this nut I presume that the legs of the forks should be pulled apart slightly to get the wheel in. Is this the case?
