Main bearings supplier

Next step in my '58 M21 project is to replace the main bearings.

Those nice people at Draganfly have the bearings in stock (65-2045 24-722 24-724 & 27-261) for about £75 which seems reasonable to me but I'm not sure what quality these are. I remember reading somewhere that a C3 fit is appropriate for these and I'm wondering whether I'm better off going to a specialist bearing supplier for these - any recommendations?

Gary.

Re: Main bearings supplier

I can supply good quality branded bearings...These come in a set including a modern circlip to replace the 'use once' original bearing clip..

I had a batch of the timing side roller bearings made when good quality ones became unavailable...

Contact me off forum for details if you are interested...Ian

I am finding although both the Roller bearings seem ok, now cleaned up and oiled, they run smooth, they also slide onto the shaft by hand without drifting on. Also slide back off by hand. no play. Should I roughen up the shaft slightly to drift on , maybe some locktight as well. I feel if the shaft is the issue new bearings will also slide on, so may need to use locktight as only option.
