I just finished mounting my new 8" headlamp, looks great, tested the reconditioned switch and HORROR!!

there is a defect somewhere in the innards; whem I wiggle the knob, the light sometimes flickers but usually it stays dark.
So has anybody for sale a spare switch LU/351590 in reasonable condition? I already have the knob...

It was nothing to do with me

If the switch works out of the headlight shell it sounds like a terminal is shorting against it when fitted. Have a look to see if it's touching anywhere.

I gave all contacts of my switch a short sand blast, this may should Horrible but they have never been this clean before.

I always put an earth wire to the rear light, I feel that if I have painted the bike thoroughly electricity shouldn't be able to jump between all those parts.
