A while back I bought a complete NOS front wheel for my WDM20..

I assume it was a post war replacement part as it came fitted with the post war type (girder fork)speedo drive...

These drives were a little wider than the wartime spec. drive and had a wider felt seal rather than the thin metal cased rubber seal of the WD type...

They also carry the Smiths Industries markings and drive ratio as well as the patent number...Only the latter was on the WD type...

The original finish was satin black but as this had picked up quite a few scratches I removed the remainder (there was no primer on the die cast body, only the black top coat.)

This drive is now surplus to my requirements..It would be ideal for a post war 'civvy' girder fork M20 or for a WD bike if total originality is not paramount....
