I'll be the first to say that I'm clueless when it comes to electronics. I rode the m20 to dinner and on the way home Tail light & Brake light were out. The bulb and the fuse look good and the wires all look hooked up and look like new. What should I look for next?
A bad earth. You can easily check the earth by running a wire with a crocodile clip each end from the lamp holder to the earth side of the battery or where the battery is earthed to the frame. Ron
If you have a pattern tail light they can have earthing problems as Ron said, but the problem usually lies in the bulb holder itself, with the tail light switched on try wiggling the bulb, if it comes on the fault probably lies with a poor fitting bulb holder or connections on the back of the bulb. it's quite a common problem pattern back lights.
