Norton 16H in Malta

Dave sent me this picture and email. Ron

Hi Ron

Found this picture of my Dad , he's the one at the controls .I'm not sure of the date I know it was Malta around 46/48 ? , he was a D Day Veteran this will be early post war but not sure of date , also what bike is it they are on.

I don't know how to post it on the forum , I was going to post it just as a matter of interest .

Dave

Re: Norton 16H in Malta

It would be nice if one of the Maltesers could identify the exact location. The bike still has a headlamp mask which is odd for a post-war picture. I suspect an early 16H retro-fitted with panniers as it has the clamped on horn.

I love the jaunty angles of the GS caps by the way. How many different ways did the troops try to wear them ?

He looks like a big lad...I have a friend who is very interested in the post war 'end of Empire' period...

I'll ask him if he has any post war m/c related photos....He has an extensive collection of BAOR and other theatres of operation...Ian
