NOS Combination Levers

To use or not to use on a late 41 early 42 build originally fitted with a sidecar that is the question?

Any opinions or knowledge appreciated.

Re: NOS Combination Levers

Nice set of very nice levers, I have them on my bike and they are very nice to use.

The long lever isn't the ignition lever as so many people seem to think, it's the exhaust valve lifter. An extra separated long lever is needed for your ignition.

I think that they were used up to the end of 1940 or maybe very early 1941.

They are nice levers both to look at and to use...I'd fit them personally...Ian

Re: NOS Combination Levers

Hi. Would anyone have a photograph of what the magneto lever looks like? Also, is the cable just threaded through the nut and tightened to clamp the cable?

Re: NOS Combination Levers

Here is the clutch side of mine with the correct mag lever. Yes the cable is just clamped in the fitting. I get my cables tinned to avoid fraying. Ron

Really nice levers - surely you will use them

Was lucky to get a set from a forum member & when the day arrives, I'll have them on straight away

Re: NOS Combination Levers

Hi Glenn. Here is a shot from the other side which shows the correct pivot type clamp on the mag lever. They do also come with the two screw saddle clamp. Also the correct dip switch. The brake lever has the horn button. Ron

Re: NOS Combination Levers

Thanks again Ron. It looks like the setup that I have is correct, complete with horn and dip switch, just missing the advance/ retard lever so it's good that I now know what to look for. Are all the non brass parts of the leved cadmium plated?

Re: NOS Combination Levers

['They do also come with the two screw saddle clamp']...

This type were standard fitment on post war BSAs up to the early/mid 50s...

Apart from the clamp the rest of the lever is the same as the WD one so they can be used for a source of parts...Ian
