On the subject of BA fixings. I have used this firm a number of times for next day delivery and can thoroughly recommend them.

Based on the recommendation from above otherwise known as Ron I placed an order from BA Bolts. I ordered some 3BA roundhead screws, nuts and washers as well as ¼, 5/16 and 3/8 stainless cycle thread studding. I received the order within 24 hours and was very pleased with the prices including the P&P.

I ordered the washers as my James ML DU42 headlight has washers under the screws so I believe my other headlights should have them as well.

I've never seen washers on Lucas panel screws and although the 'Screws, Panel Fixing' are listed in the MT3/LU parts list, washers don't seem to be.

That’s interesting. The James DU42 is definitely original as it has the original paint screws etc. Maybe they were added later. One day I might even find a James for it to fit on!

Have seen some with very small lockwashers under the head of the screw, o.d. just as big as the head.
