Ride out...

It was a beautiful day today, here in South Devon, so I headed out for a ride about on the TRW...

I went to visit a friend who lives about 20 miles away to look at his latest projects and then came back by a more roundabout route taking in part of Dartmoor...

Perfect riding weather and the first time since I bought it that the TWR has done a whole ride without anything dropping off...I must be making progress!!..
...

The picture was taken on the edge of the moors...The building you can just make out on the top of the hill in the background is a local landmark...It's a church and can be seen from miles around...

Built in the 1500s....Ian

Re: Ride out...

Does the church tower appear more prominently when the weather is cold? That aside, yes, the TRW is pretty and all that, but a tad too much air twixt cylinder head and tank for my taste. Think what an improvement it would be to fit a G3 Tower of Power! BTW, has anyone received a signal from the Beaches? It is awful quiet over there.............has the beachhead been successfully established once more? Now, where are those pills..........

Re: Ride out...

B******s to the Matchbox 'Tower of power'...

An all alloy Tiger 100 motor would be a better proposition and a more appropriate upgrade...

But then you could say that about any military bike..DBD34 into M20...G50 into G3L...Ariel HS motor into WNG?...The 'death wish' possibilities are endless...

The TRW doesn't look as 'gappy' in reality...The bike was on the sidestand and leaning away from the camera...It's all about the angle of dangle... ....Ian

Re: Ride out...

I do tend to fit mini-exhaust 'bobbins' between tank and frame of most of my old junk - better at stopping split tanks than the original tap-washers.

Relevance - it does give a bit bigger gap betwixt head and tank, say 1/4"-3/8" so my bikes do tend to have a bit more fresh air between.

Does mean I can lift the nose of the saddle to suit the tank - I've got long legs and even 1/2" helps.

Suffering from twisted ankle from Sundays Enduro - but hope my next run out will be THE BANBOROUGH Run in Northumbria - not military but hopefully like minded individuals...
