HAVE I GOT THE WRONG SIDE STAND?

Hi guys,
Again your input is very welcome here (I'm a complete novice at this game)

I got the side stand for the bike and fitted it where the mounting was already part of the original frame...

BUT

I feel that this might not be the right stand for a bike with panniers??

If I have got the wrong stand, what are my options? I dont want to take the panniers off (they are useful!) so should I get a different (longer) stand?

Where would the mounting put the bike in it's age category as the frame is supposed to be a 1945 build, but, I beleive the shorter mounting lugs were fitted to earlier frames?

Aaarghhh!! Too much confusion here! :-/

PS - don't worry about the blue paint, I'm slowly getting rid of it! :-)

Re: HAVE I GOT THE WRONG SIDE STAND?

Ian, the long stand should be mounted via a clamp higher on the frame. I have sent you some pictures that might help illustrate that.

Re: HAVE I GOT THE WRONG SIDE STAND?

Stand problems seem to have been sorted out...

I think I tried to fit the "long" stand onto the "short" stands pre-mounted bracket.

I have since removed my earlier error and fitted the stand under the seat using the clamp/bracket that it was supplied with - it seems to look right now :-)

Thanks to everyone that helped me out here :-)
