Does anyone have the measure of the valve springs for 3HW (indoor and outdoor spring)?
I got with my project a spring collection, but do not know which one to install.

Manfred - i will measure you one today and post dimansions later.

It looks a very common size (well in my box of springs) so you should find somethung to fit.


Finally back on my rebuild, starting to come together.
I was lucky that the engine is complete and running well, as for the CHASSIS, i've given up looking for genuine parts for now, so am making the Indian crap work as it should .....

i need to post a pix somehow to keep all you 3HW restorer going (please don't count the rivets...)

Spring size;

MAIN SPRING -
34.7mm outside diameter x 26.9mm inside diameter
57mm long
5 working turns x 4.07mm wire thickness

SECONDARY SPRING -
26.9mm outside diameter x 21mm inside diameter
47.2mm long
5 working turns x 2.87mm wire thickness

The spring cap has a step for the secondary spring and there is a washer fitted in the head, around the valve guide ~2mm thick for the secondary spring.
Outside diameter of this washer is ~26mm so it stops the main-spring from moving sideways.
