Weymouth

Hi , it's Ross, I just wanted to say, thank you fall all that you did showing me the ropes at Weymouth, it was very much appreciated.
Having arrived home, within the hour , I'd taken my field stand off, dismantled the lot, it now sits the right way round and higher up................and the tank bolts are the correct way around now too ;-) . Thanks again and keep in touch.

Kind regards

Ross

Re: Weymouth

Hi Ross, it was good to meet you and I do like that Maltese Camouflage. It was a very good weekend as usual very well organised by Poppy, John & Ron, long may it continue.

Good to meet you and the family Ross. Any criticism of your field stand was "all done in the best possible taste" Ron

Re: Weymouth

Hi Ron, thank you fall all that you did showing me the ropes at Weymouth, it was very much appreciated. Rely enjoyed the convoy hoping to Portland, was really good to ride with a like minded person and enjoy the bikes. Your Enfield is a rock, you should be called ' Rocket Ron '!!!!!!!! As for the field stand and bolts etc, it's like I said, any tips and advice I will take it on and learn, so it's very much appreciated, as at the end of the day, I want my bike to be right.

All the best and kind regards

Re: Weymouth

Glad you enjoyed it Ross. With enough disciplined DR's we can keep a large convoy together, but it's too difficult in Weymouth's Saturday afternoon traffic with just a few of us. So much better to just do some convoy hopping and traffic dodging just for fun.
Some great DR runs down in Devon and on Dartmoor at the Buckfasleigh weekend if you can make it. Give Rob Miller a shout for more info. I know it's a long way for you, but I doubt you'll better it other than maybe in Normandy. Ron

Re: Weymouth

I did enjoy following your lead , traffic hopping to get to the front of the convoy. I will email Rob for some more info, but doing some more DR work is VERY appealing to me. Although, I feel I might have to try and tweak/tune my old girl to try and keep up with you and your rocket Enfield!!!!! Changing the subject a little, my kickstart bush is starting to wear, do you have any suggestions to find a good replacement? Or should I just give russel a bell?

I usually ring Les at Russell's first as the chances are he might have NOS stuff. Ron

Show time

Hi Ron, I've checked the dates and the weekend of the 4th/5th I'm already booked in to a local show and my bike raised a lot of money for the RAFA there, so I'm booked in again this year. However , you can count me in for next year!!! I've read up on it and viewed some pictures, it looks really good and right up my ally. How have you been spending your tinker time this week?

Regards

Ross

Ross I'm having a short period of motorcycle denial. I'm gradually taking some bits off my Jeep in readiness to move it and get the body off for a re-spray. Ron

Re: Show time

That's brilliant , I remember you saying you'd got your original wings back and had restored them. I see what you mean about the green. If I lived closer I'd love to give you a hand helping. Was that a triumph I spy in the back ground? Your a lucky man to have that big workshop, fare play to you. I now refer to you as 'Rocket Ron' when going through the weymouth pictures

Re: Show time

Is that an LDV Jeep, Ron ?

Surely they weren't still drilling with yardbrooms when the Jeep arrived ?

Re: Show time

Ha Ha ya'all. I was often called "Rocket Ron" by builders during my delivery days...Long before Ronnie O'Sullivan came along. I guess it just naturally falls into place with any Ron who's able to get his arse in gear

Yes I spayed my Jeep nearly 25 years ago with 'British Mid Bronze Green'. But realised a long time ago that it would have been delivered in a US 'Olive Green' and since I've got rid of the repro wings I fitted at the time and restored the originals, I'm going through it all again. I suppose every 25 years isn't bad

Ross you will have to hone your identification skills! The bikes in the Jeep picture are Velo's......I do have Triumphs though.....Bring the family to sunny Bournemouth/Poole and come have a look. We also have Sammy Millers and the Tank Museum nearby. Your wife will love it Ron

Rocket Ron!!!!

You tell them 'Rocket Ron'!!!!!!

Would love to come down and have a look, the wife and children also. Your collection is fantastic. I don't not what I'm more jealous of, your collection or your workshop space!!!!! We will have to try and work something out around our shows.
