Frame number question

I'm working on a M20 from a friend and I'm puzzled about dating the bike. The framenumber is 12137 without a prefix.
I tried the M20 website and the Orchard & Madden book but no succes.
Anyone who can help me?.

Could be a replacement frame...........number applied by workshops but not necessarily a prefix.................
