Am I the only person to have put the bike back together; panniers included only to leave the rear stand till last as I needed new bolts!

Is there a way to put the nearside shouldered bolt and nut together without taking off the wheel and brake hub etc...etc..etc...?

I'm afraid you have to take the wheel out, Pat.
Some people take the wheel out complete, in one piece. And put it back just like that.

Did it. Take a long pair of medical hemostats with the nut in the jaws, and keep trying to start a thread. it took several tries but we got it...

Dropped the wheel. Just couldn't see how a spanner could get in nearside. Offside there is space, but nearside seemed impossible.
